To help raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, international actress Scarlett Johansson has designed a solidarity handbag for our brand. From March and while stocks last, this handbag will be available in the more than 1,390 MANGO stores worldwide. Part of the profits will be donated to the NGO Oxfam International (Intermón Oxfam in Spain).
 Supporting the people of Haiti
The print on the handbag represents the ancient cartography of Haiti, and contains the message “Supporting the people of Haiti” written and signed by the actress.
On this matter, Scarlett Johansson said: “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Mango to promote conscious consumerism and to benefit Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Response Fund. By purchasing this bag, which I specially designed, you are helping to provide life saving assistance like clean water to the people of Haiti.”
Ninona Vila, Corporate PR Director said: “Given the terrible events that have taken place, MANGO wants to support the victims of the Haiti earthquake. For this reason, we want to offer our clients the chance to collaborate in this project, as there are many people who need help.”

The American actress poses with our new designs for Spring/Summer 2010
 Scarlett Johansson Spring/Summer 2010
Scarlett Johansson, one of the most internationally acclaimed actresses of the moment, is once again starring in our new campaign, this time for the new Spring 2010 season.
On this occasion, the photo shoot took place in New York city, where the actress modelled the new designs of the Spanish fashion firm. Once again, Scarlett Johansson was sexy and elegant through the lens of the acclaimed photographer Mario Sorrenti, who received styling advice from Damián Sánchez, the Creative Director of MANGO. Hairstyling and make-up was provided by Bob Recine and Stéphane Marais, respectively.
During the launch of the new collection, which took place in Madrid on 11 November, Scarlett Johansson confessed: “I love working with MANGO. This is the third campaign I have done with them. The photographer, Mario Sorrenti, makes me feel very comfortable: the sessions are great fun. I see MANGO as a casual firm, with lots of combinations of garments, fresh and youthful”.
 Scarlett Johansson Spring/Summer 2010
About her projects, the actress told us: “Among my projects, I have a play on Broadway, “A view from the bridge”. I am really happy, but I’m still doing rehearsals. I didn’t have time to get nervous. I don’t know what I’ll be doing in 10 years time, I cannot imagine, I suppose I’ll still be working in film and I hope I remain in good health. Although I’m an actress and a singer, I feel I am an actress above all, it’s my profession. My latest record, “Break up”, is a record by friends more than a professional one. I recorded it with Pete Yorn, who is a friend of mine. I love sharing it with people and I hope they like it”.

The young designer creates an exclusive collection of t-shirts
The New York based designer, Moises de la Renta, has designed a limited edition collection of t-shirts for MANGO, in which this garment is reinterpreted in various ways: embellishing it with jewels, precious stones and tulle and giving it a customised deluxe air, as well as creating graphic illusions by employing heraldic symbols combined with transparencies and patchwork effects. This collection will go on sale at the company’s stores from 1 March ‘09, with prices ranging from 25€ to 35€.
Aged just 25, Moises de la Renta is already an established designer and represents a blend of chic and New York cool styles. He was born in La Romana, in the Dominican Republic, and brought up in the country, in Connecticut, where he learned to love nature. Moises recently had the honour of seeing Michelle Obama wear a dress from his Autumn 09 collection. The son of the legendary Oscar de la Renta, Moises de la Renta grew up with an innate sense of elegance. His style is attenuated with a rock & roll sensibility, which the young designer gives his own personal creative interpretation.

With his debut collection of t-shirts for MANGO, Moises says he is delighted to present some intricate, timeless and affordable designs. My inspiration for this collection were the traditional romantic themes: from pretty patchworks with summer flowers in sombre colours, such as rose, violet, grey and black, to graphic illusions which combine transparent effects, with shiny gems and adornments in between.
